PETA: (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - Actor Olivia Munn - star of HBO's hit series The Newsroom - is taking her role as senior financial reporter to a new level by exposing "globalization at its worst" in her brand-new undercover video exposé, which reveals never-before-seen footage of animals being beaten, stomped, genitally electrocuted, and skinned alive on Chinese fur farms, where there are no penalties for this abuse.



China is the world's largest exporter of fur, and undercover investigations repeatedly reveal what the fashion industry won't tell you: foxes, minks, rabbits, and even dogs and cats are mercilessly killed in order to make fur coats, vests, trim on jackets, purses, and other accessories.



"Who needs fur to feel beautiful?" Olivia asks in her beautiful print ad, shot by top photographer Emily Shur, as a poignant reminder that fur only looks good on its original owner: the animal.

SEOUL - Very disturbing pictures are now spreading across the internet about a certain delicacy which could be found in China.



Some Chinese people are known to be eating babies, and the news, which has been circulating through the internet and via email, is shocking the world.



An email report received by the Seoul Times confirmed that news with several vivid and appalling pictures of human embryos and fetuses being made into a soup for human consumption.



The report went on. A town in the southern province of Canton (Guangdong) is now in focus. Chinese folks there are enjoying baby herbal soup to increase overall health and stamina and the power of sexual performance in particular.



This time, a couple who already has two daughters decided to abort the child after receiving confirmation that it was another girl. The baby was already five months old.



Those babies who are close to be born and die naturally cost 2000 in China Currency. Those aborted ones cost a few hundreds in China Currency.



Those couples who did not want to sell dead babies, placentas can be accepted also for couple of hundreds.



One local reporter was quoted as saying that this is the problem arising from Chinese taking too much attention in health or is the backfire effect when China introduced one child in a family policy.



This heinous crime rise from the fact that majority of Chinese people prefer to have male babies and the poor families end up selling their female babies. Dead babies can be purchased in Taiwan for 70 US dollars for being used as grilled delicacies.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ca. - You might use Google Translate to read a hard-to-find Manga comic book or to decipher an obscure recipe for authentic Polish blintzes. Or, like Phillip and Niki Smith in rural Mississippi, you could use it to rescue a Chinese orphan and fall in love at the same time.



Google is now doing a record billion translations on any given day, as much text as you'd find in 1 million books for everything from understanding school lunch menus to gathering national security intelligence. It translates in 65 languages, from Afrikaans to Yiddish, and can be used on websites, with speech recognition and as an app on mobile phones even if there is no connection.



While the technology is exponentially evolving, Google's translation guru Franz Och's face lit up when he heard that the Smiths and their new daughter, 14-year-old Guan Ya, are settling into their new lives together this month communicating almost exclusively through Google Translate.



"All day long I look at algorithms, algorithms and algorithms," he said. "It is so rewarding to hear that it is touching lives."



In the Smiths' case, it changed theirs forever.



The Smiths, who already have three children, first spotted Guan Ya less than a year ago when Niki Smith was looking at photos of hard to place orphans online, offering simple prayers for them one by one. Dailymail.co.uk - A Tulsa family is celebrating after the Deaf little girl they adopted from China was able to hear for the first time - a moment they described as 'breathtaking'. Gifted a cochlear implant, Jayde Scholl now squeals and laughs with delight as she listens to the sound of her adoptive mother Jaque Scholl's voice.



On Tuesday the implant was switched on, marking the end of a two adoption process for Jayde after she spent the first four-years of her life in a Chinese orphanage after being abandoned in a town square at the age of eight-months.

Luckily for Jayde, the Scholl's were looking to adopt and saw her on trip to China two-years-ago, but international adoptions take longer than domestic ones.



Once the paper-work was complete, the Scholl's brought Jayde to the United States just before Christmas.



However, Jaque, who is a doctor of audiology at her own School Center for the Deaf in Oklahoma, noticed something was wrong with her new daughter on the plane home.
