Why fundraising campaign? On April 7, 2015, two men, who she thought were her friends, drove her from Fayetteville to Raleigh against her will. They got her drunk and drugged her, then raped her. Not only that, they drove their vehicle over her body twice in a parking lot then left her there alone.

Four weeks later, she is still hospitalized. She will have surgeries because almost all of her organs are involved in the damage. Her mother has lost her job and house because she has to take care of her. Sabrina has an 18 month old baby who is being taken care of by her grandmother for now - Watch video in ASL.

Deaf Domestic Violence #WhoWillAnswer

VIDEO [ASL/CC] - 1500 Deaf Domestic Violence Calls Answered... How Many Missed?

DHN - Take a look at who is behind #WhoWillAnswer and the amazing work it is doing for Deaf domestic violence victims across the country in the United States of America.

Help in the national campaign to fund 24/7 access to domestic violence services in American Sign Language.

Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD) and Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services (ADWAS) are giving you the chance... now answer the call and donate today - www.WhoWillAnswer.org

Turn "Closed Captioned" On.
#WhoWillAnswer The Calls?

The National Domestic Violence Hotline partners with Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services to provide a Hotline staffed by Deaf Advocates who communicate in American Sign Language and answer calls from 9am-5pm PST, Monday through Friday.

But what about calls that occur after 5pm and on weekends when the Deaf advocates are not available to receive calls due to lack of funding?

Instead, calls are routed to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, where hearing advocates answer using interpreters after hours. We need fully trained Deaf advocates that can answer using American Sign Language any time they are needed. Who do we want to answer the call? Help us expand our program so Deaf Advocates are able to answer the call, 24/7.

Turn "Closed Captioned" On.

DHN hopes to grow into a national, daily broadcast with news segments and other network programs. We currently air on local channels and online.

Deaf Mom Dances With Hearing Son Goes Viral

VIRAL VIDEO: [ASL] - Exclusive Interview with Deaf Mom and Hearing Son Connect Through Their Language of Dance.

Mark Villaver has danced behind some impressive celebrities like Usher Terry Raymond. But he's never looked better on the dance floor than in this video, where he and his mom throw down some super smooth moves to Usher. Mark's mom is Deaf, but judging by her flow, she has no problem finding her groove.

In the introduction to the video, uploaded to YouTube in mid-October, Mark asks his mom in sign language if she'd like to dance. She signs back, visibly excited, "Yeah!" prompting a dance routine which will absolutely knock your socks off.

DHN - Mark Villaver doesn't sign but he and his Deaf mom, Emilia, can always connect through dance. Deaf and Hearing Network sat down with Mark in California and his mom in Hawaii to discuss their love of dance and why they went viral.

Deaf Mom Dancing With Son To Usher - This video is the original of Deaf mom Emilia and hearing son Mark Villaver dancing to Usher's song "She came to give it to you".
